A Strong Voice for Seaside’s Future
I believe Seaside’s strength comes from our community. By running for City Council, I am focused on listening to residents, supporting local businesses, and working to make the decisions that keep our community safe, welcoming, and economically strong. I am ready to work with the community to build a future Seaside can be proud of.
About
Ken Fittro
I was born a “military brat”, raised in the shadow of Travis Air Force base; following my family across the United States from contractor base to contractor base. My upbringing and mobility honed and developed valuable skills of adaptability, resiliency, and collaboration. It has given me a perspective and understanding that a thriving community requires a council that can adapt to new challenges and stay rooted in the needs of its people.
As a forty-year resident of the City of Seaside, my wife and I have raised our children in Seaside; both proudly graduating from Seaside High School. I am a retired Special Education teacher/administrator/union negotiator & coach. I have been a volunteer for the Big Sur Marathon, the City of Seaside Senior Program, Coast Valley Aquatics League, Pacific Swimming 12-under Leadership Camp, as well as several Regional All Star Swim Teams.
For the past thirty years I have spent my spare time as Head Coach of the Seaside Dolphins, a USA Swim Team that I founded in collaboration with the City of Seaside. In retirement, I stay connected with our local youth as I continue to coach high school swimming and water polo. The success of our athletes and teams is a result of actively establishing long term working relationships with local Seaside organizations and a vast community support system.
I look forward to representing all of the people of the City of Seaside as a City Council member.
